Where To Stay for the Capitol Hill Block Party 2022

It’s that time of year again—when the grass is greener, the sun shines brighter and the vibes are more positive. We’re talking about Capitol Hill Block Party (CHBP), an annual 3-day festival celebrating music, art and the community itself in the heart of Seattle.

Unlike your typical festival experience, CHBP features a 6-stage music and arts festival that comes alive as Seattle’s best weekend of summer!

When you think of Seattle, what comes to mind? The Space Needle? Rain? Starbucks Coffee?

All very good guesses, but there’s another thing that makes Seattle unique: the beloved Capitol Hill Block Party. This annual three-day festival celebrates music, art, and the neighborhood itself in the heart of Seattle.

Capitol Hill Block Party

Capitol Hill Block Party is an annual three-day festival celebrating music, art, and the neighborhood itself in the heart of Seattle.

CHBP takes place in Capitol Hill—an area known for its cultural diversity and progressive politics. The neighborhood draws people from all over the world who fall in love with its quirky charm and rich history. It’s also home to some of Seattle’s most beloved bars, restaurants, shops and galleries.

While you’re enjoying the sounds and sights of CHBP, we want to share with you some of our favorite spots in Capitol Hill so that you can explore before or after the festival!

Capitol Hill Block Party is one of the last independently-owned festivals of its’ size in the country.

This festival celebrates music, art and the neighborhood itself in the heart of Seattle. This year’s lineup includes local and regional talent as well as international and national artists.

CHBP is not your typical festival experience. It combines some of the city’s best bars, restaurants and retail shops with community events, political activism and art shows.

Collectively, this lineup gives a uniquely curated glimpse into what’s happening here and now in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Where to eat in the Captitol Hill Neighborhood

Unlike other cities (Detroit, Atlanta, etc.), hot dogs are still very much a street food in Seattle.

The city has an official hot dog stand that’s been serving up dogs since 1927, and there are many other spots around town where you can get your fix. If you’re looking for something different, try a smoked salmon dog at one of the city’s food carts!

Where to Stay in the Capitol Hill Neighborhood

Seattle Gaslight Inn

The Seattle Gaslight Inn is one of the Capitol Hill neighbourhood’s iconic buildings. It’s been around since 1912, and it’s a family-run business with myself, my wife Joelle, our two kids Jacob & Anna, and our tuxedo cat Tuxie. We love meeting new people from all over the globe. This house is full of love and warmth, which we want to share with all of our guests. There are truly no strangers at the Seattle Gaslight!

Cecil Bacon Manor

The Cecil Bacon Mansion has been a popular spot for visitors over the years thanks to its proximity to Seattle University (which is just across Broadway), its convenient location near downtown (less than two miles away), and its beautiful architecture that makes it one of the most recognisable buildings in all of Seattle.

Sonder at Pivot

The industrial-inspired space is at the center of the action in Capitol Hill’s LGBTQ+ neighborhood. The rooftop terrace is perfect for relaxing by the firepit and admiring the downtown skyline. Or you could work out those travel jitters at the fitness center. Hungry? La Cocina Oaxaqueña downstairs has the tastiest tacos, and the historic Pike Place Market is full of fresh seafood. Whether you’re breathing in the bay breeze or soaking up the sights, settle into Seattle at Pivot.

You’ll be steps away from some of Seattle’s most iconic attractions: The Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, Chihuly Garden & Glass… even a stroll down Broadway will take you past beautiful old-world architecture and theaters that hosted rock ‘n roll legends back when they were just getting started. Plus, if you’re feeling adventurous, there are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from—from hiking to kayaking to snowboarding!

While we can’t guarantee sunshine every day (it never snows in Seattle!), our central location means that wherever your adventures take you during your stay at Pivot Hotel Capitol Hill, you will be close to home!
